After looking at all the front bag setup pictures i have saved from the build threads i think that it is going to be easier than i thought. I went back to the garage and took a better look and i should be able to figure out how to position it properly. If anyone else with RE6 bags up front could chime in and let me know any pointers it would be apreciated. thanks!

Alright so after some more time spenting holding every thing in place and wondering how the hell this is going to work i think i may have a slight idea of what im going to do. This part confuses me, In all of the other builds i see the bag plate lifted on the outside near the balljoint but in order for me to have the bag compressed without hitting the frame the inside of the bag plate near the frame has to be raised close to 1" when layed out and this makes it look like there is no way my upper bag plate is going to work because of how far away the top of the bag is when inflated. should i be fuly inflating the bag when mocking up full lift height? i honestly need some one know knows what they are doing to tell me how to set this up properly and yes i have read the how to front bags thread as well as over 100 build threads.

this is the only way the bag can be positioned where it is a few mm from lower balljoint and 5mm from frame rail. should i flip the balljoint just so i can position the bag further away from the frame? As i said i need one of the pro's to chime in.

thanks guys

i have drop spindles that may help ??? im not a professional and i have no clue what im doing either

drop spindles would help correct camber with larger rims when on air
when running factory rims with air i am sure drop spindles arent ideal.
thanks but hopefully one of the vets knows!

drop spindles would help correct camber and thats about it i think
when running factory rims with air i am surei was told drop spindles arent ideal.
but thanks!

should i be welding the top plate inline under the LCA flush with the top of the frame rail then compinsating the bag angle with spacers under the LCA's bag plate? or should i be welding the lower first then deciding angle of top? im lost when it comes to this

hopefully one of the veterans know!

Get your bag mount set up on the lower arm first. Then you can align the upper bracket with the lower so the bag collapses evenly.

Thanks for the help! Now I know its different for every application but would you suggest spacing the frame side of the bag bracket upwards in order to move the top of the bag further away from the frame? I have seen other people space the ball joint side up but I can't see that working here,

Thanks

You want to angle the BJ side of the top plate up. the best way to set up your front is to tack the bottom plate in and then put a block of 4x4 wood cut down to the minimum height of your bags on top of the lower bracket. Then you can bolt your spindle on and lift the center of your hub to where it will be when laid out. Ounce you are there then you can trim to your top plate to line your bolt holes up and tack the top plate in. After your tacked in take out the wood block and insert a bag. Collapse the bag and check for an even collapse all the way around the bag. If it is off then you can adjust as needed. If it is on then you can just finish welding it up. The collapsed position of the bag is far more important then the angle of the bag at full lift. At the same time you are obviously looking at the bag for any other problem areas that may cause rubbing or puncture of the bag down the road too. Hope this makes sense. -Ed

That makes sense im going to the garage to get this tacked up
