Alright thanks!
Well i snapped a few pictures from tonight but its nothing everyone hasnt seen before.
bout time i picked one of these up
pulled the front susp including uppers and tension rods
Front suspension gone minus the UCA
Does anyone else think that head looks WAY newer than the engine?
Sorry guys nothing exciting
I'm going to finish my steel Welding table tomorror so i can mount up my new vice and get working on the front suspension components!
Never apologize when you post pics. If there are pics to look at then we don't care if it the same thing we have seen before or new stuff. It is always good to see the next guys ride and possibly from a new angle too. You may just see something you never saw before. Keep up the frozen progress Sask. -Ed
Right on! well tonight i started cutting off the oem bump stops+ more but got fed up from being hit in the eye with metal dust/particles even with safety glasses. I had scratched my cornea working on vehicles before and it was not a very pleasant feeling so since i was unable to find my face sheild i retired into the house for the night. I will have to grab a new one tomorow and finish the cutting
I hear ya I use a face sheild, sirius radio, and welding protective clothing, at work yesturday I stepped on a nail, got a spark in my eye and hit in the shin with a sledgehammer,
mazdaman ouch, that sucks. i got some nice dirty water in the face when i was taking a cover of a cx9 today. But anyway skraping try those chemisty googgles, it keeps shit outta your eyes real good.
Found my uvex face sheild and picked up some new lenses for it today. I cut everything that needed to be removed off the front frame rails this evening and tossed the UCA, LCA and spindle back on because i really wanted to see where it would lay:) Dont mind the torsion bolts still in there I plan on getting new hardware.
still need to modify the LCA's notch so it doesnt hit the mount on the frame
my passenger tire has a nail in it so its a little flat! I'll have fix that
I am not running drop spindles and plan on running stock rims/tires for a while. I dont know if they are forsure hitting and i have not tested the range of motion with the truck up on stands to find out if i will have to notch the LCA. From reading other threads i thought notching the lowers was always necessary. Does the cross memeber look to be at its lowest possible heigh without Z'ing the frame? Please keep in mind the rear is still on 4" blocks. Im looking to weld the front bag mounts soon and am wondering if i should dissasemble the rear and have the entire frame level before i start tacking the front back mounts?
thanks guys!
