Well certainly you have a fan somewhere in between the radiator and the water pump right?

I'm going to just dig through Fords with small block V8's using my tape measure and see which one has the tightest clearance and then snag all the brackets off it.[/quote]

Have you found accessory brackets yet? Sometimes the 94-95 mustang are hard to find to snag it's short brackets. But take a look at 91-93 T-Bird V8's. They also are suppose to have a short pump and accessory drive system. From what I read, the only difference between the 94-95 Mustang and the T-Bird water pump is the spacing of the bolt holes on the snout.

You're using pusher fans on the front of the radiator, correct?
I would love it if you were able to get a pic of the motor mounts from underneath or up close showing how it mounted.

yes they are on the front. I have 3/4 of an inch of clearance from the water pump to the radiator. the radiator is 2 1/4 thick.

Thanks for all those pics man, they are helping a lot. I noticed that your motor mounts are sitting almost perfectly centered on the frame pads, and that you drilled the holes offset because of the offset studs. I am thinking of using motor mounts with studs in the center, not offset.

Did you have clearance any part of the firewall or trans tunnel with a big ass hammer to get the 302 & T5 in place?

the engine i didn't have any issue, but had to make a little room for the clutch linkage in the tranny tunnel. I had jerry rigged something together for the stock hydraulic linkage, but ended up finding Konz build thread for his truck. I ended up switching over to what he did and it works a lot better.

Those motor mounts are like $8 each, so I'm going to buy 2 of them and try to install the motor, meanwhile I have will still have the 2 Fox-body mounts available to try out and find the best fit. For $16 it will be nice to have the option sitting there while I am trying to fit it in ya know.

I'm using an AOD with a cable linkage so hopefully I won't any clearance issues. I'd hate to put it halfway in, have to take it out and bang the tunnel, try again, etc.

thats a good idea- and for that price how can you go wrong?

sorry to tell you but... taking the engine halfway in and out is part of the fun! haha its just something thats gonna happen.

So when does this bitchin build begin?

We got the motor in yesterday, a lot of prying, begging, pushing, jacking, shoving, and crying. But she's in there. The only way I could get it in was with the stock 5.0 Cougar mounts flipped side-to-side, the other motor mounts (with centered stud) was a nice idea, but no foreseeable way I could squeeze the motor back another inch.

Now comes the fun part of figuring out driveshaft, shifter, pulleys, brackets, wiring, etc.
